Abstract Submission Guidelines

Please read the instructions below before submitting your abstract(s).

General Information & Deadlines

    1. Abstracts must be submitted electronically via the online submission system by 15 July 2026 according to the instructions below. Abstracts received via e-mail or after the deadline will not be accepted and therefore cannot be considered for the program or publication.
    2. Abstracts need to be submitted to one of the following topics:
    Acute Kidney Injury (including CKRT)
    Artificial Intelligence
    Basic Science Pertaining to Kidney Disease
    Chronic Kidney Disease (including Cardiovascular Disease)
    Ciliopathies (including ARPKD and Nephronophthisis)
    Clinical Trials
    Congenital Abnormalities of the Kidney and Urinary Tract (CAKUT)
    Dialysis (including Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis, excluding Acute Dialysis)
    Ethical Issues
    Gender Differences in Nephrology
    Genetics and Genetic Disease (not otherwise categorised)
    Glomerular Diseases (excluding Nephrotic Syndrome)
    Glomerulonephritis (including Vasculitides)
    Green Nephrology
    Hemolytic Uremic Syndromes and Thrombotic Microangiopathy
    Hypertension
    Innovative Therapeutics (CAR-T, Gene Therapy, etc.)
    Miscellaneous
    Neonatal Nephrology (including Antenatal)
    Nephrotic Syndrome
    Paediatric Nephrology in Under-Resourced Areas
    Patient Perspective
    Psychosocial Issues, including Transition to Adult Care
    Rare Diseases
    Transplantation
    Tubulopathies and Electrolyte Disorders (including Tubulointerstitial Diseases)
    Urology (including UTIs, Kidney Stones and Bladder Dysfunction)
      1. preferred presentation method should be selected from the following options:
          • Oral Presentation
          • Poster

    Please note that all submitted abstracts will be peer reviewed by the Scientific Committee and their selection will be final. 10 best oral abstracts will be presented during the plenary sessions.

    1. Once the abstract is submitted, it can be changed until the abstract submission deadline of 15 July 2026.
    2. A second call for late-breaking abstracts (clinical trials only) will be open from 29 September 2026 until 12 October 2026. Only a small quota of oral presentation slots will be reserved for this, so we strongly encourage you to submit your abstracts in the first round.
    3. The number of abstracts submitted per presenting author is not limited.
    4. Accepted abstracts will be made available electronically in the online program on the IPNA 2027 website and in the Pediatric Nephrology journal. Abstracts not suitable for display will be rejected. Please have your abstract(s) checked for correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formatting. The organiser reserves the right to edit abstracts if necessary. Submission of the abstract constitutes the consent of all authors to publication.
    5. All presenting authors will receive an acceptance/rejection notification letter via e-mail by 17 September 2026.
    6. An invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to cover travel, accommodation, or registration expenses associated with the congress.
    7. All presentations (including poster presentations) can only be delivered in person. There is no possibility for Zoom/online presentations.
    8. All presenting authors are required to register and pay the registration fee by 30 October 2026 as a condition of presenting the abstract. Any oral/poster presentation whose presenting author is not registered by this date will be withdrawn from the congress. Authors who are unable to attend may ask a colleague to present on their behalf. If you or your co-authors are unable to attend, please notify the Congress Secretariat at [email protected] to withdraw your abstract at the earliest, so that we may give others the possibility to present.

    Abstract Formatting

    1. All abstracts must be written in English.
    2. The abstract title is limited to 30 words and must be submitted using the Title Case (e.g. IgA Vasculitis in Asia – capitalizing the first letter of each major word, while leaving short function words like “and,” “for,” and “the” in lowercase).
    3. The maximum abstract length is 500 words.
    4. Structure your abstract as follows: Aims/Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions. Adding references is optional and is excluded from the text limit. Please use the template available on the submission page.
    5. Up to 15 authors can be submitted for one abstract (including the presenting author). Each author can have more than one affiliation.
    6. A maximum of one picture / figure / table in JPG is allowed in the abstract text.
    7. Presenting authors who are under 40 years of age at the time of abstract submission are eligible for applying for the Best Abstract Award.
